The spotlights are breathing down your spine
You know that you´ve been part of this play far too many times
You´re the center of attention, all eyes are drawn to you
But you´re longing for something new

Your limbs are in position, the strings are all aligned
You´re smiling so that no one spots your slowly drowning eyes,
Your heart is drumming softly to the joyous interlude

You´re strung out on the hands above
Follow their commands
You try to move your feet and hands according to plan
But nothing really thrills you after all these years
Dancing in the puppetry

But then you close your eyes
And all the dreams you´ve pushed away
